My personal interests include music, gaming, typography and football. For music, one of the genres I like is electronic music. One of my favorite bands is Faithless and The Prodigy. I really would like to create some marketing material for them for one of their main concert events. Faithless are a British electronic band consisting of Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo.
Another area of interest is video games or gaming. I would like to create a brand identity for a full team sponsored by one of the big names, such as, Samsung. In my free time, I am an online gamer and I have friends from all over the globe.

Being Brazilian, I grew up knowing a lot about football as everyone is a football fan! Also, the Brazilian team is one of the top football teams in the world with many wins in the World Cup.
Another area of interest is Arabic calligraphy. I have been living in the Kingdom of Bahrain for 13 years, and I married a Bahraini. I am interested in creating a work of art that shall be showcased for tourism purposes working in collaboration with the ministry of tourism and the national museum.

After going through the Podcast Videos, the one that grabbed my attention and was my favorite is the video game Sovereign by Werkflow. Werkflow is an experimental digital arts studio based In Somerset House, London. They focus on using game engine technology to create unique work spanning the fields of music, art, fashion and advertising, alongside producing their first full length computer game, Sovereign. As well as creating their own studio led projects, their highly collaborative practice leads them to work and consult with highly acclaimed artists, designers and institutions, creating experimental computer-generated imagery, virtual reality pieces, interactive installations and online projects. This is an area that I would like to venture into as gaming is my passion and so is graphic design.

Four potential self-initiated project ideas
1. Faithless Concert
This idea revolves around the British electronic band. They are having a LIVE concert event. The project is to come up with the full concert theme making it more digitalized in terms of experience for their fans. The band will also utilize modern DJ tools and engage their fans in competitions, post and pre-concert. The target audience will include their devoted fans from teenagers to adults and electronic music lovers. The group is best known for the songs “Salva Mea”, “Insomnia”, “God Is a DJ” and “We Come 1”. Faithless recorded six studio albums, with total sales exceeding 15 million records worldwide. The band announced they would split up after their Passing the Baton dates at Brixton Academy on 7 and 8 April 2011. However, in February 2015, they reunited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band.
2. eSports
This idea revolves around coming up with a full brand identity for a newly formed eSports team. Esports (also known as electronic sports, e-sports, or eSports) is a form of sport competition using video games. Esports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams. By the 2010s, esports was a significant factor in the video game industry, with many game developers actively designing and providing funding for tournaments and other events. The League of Legends World Championship is an annual League of Legends tournament that rotates its venues around the world.
3. Football Team
This idea revolves around creating a new Football team sponsored by the player Neymar. This involves the whole brand identity for the new team. Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (born 5 February 1992), known as Neymar, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team. He is widely considered as one of the best players in the world. On 8 May 2013, Neymar was rated by SportsPro magazine as the most marketable athlete in the world, ahead of Lionel Messi (2nd) and Cristiano Ronaldo (8th). The same month, Neymar launched the Nike Hypervenom football boot. In November 2012 advertising agency Loducca, created Neymar’s own personal brand logo, featuring the N, J and R (Neymar Junior) with the N styled to match Neymar’s shirt number 11. Neymar starred in a 2014 advert for Beats with other global football stars.
4. “Country of Nobles” Visitor’s Kit
I would like to create a welcome kit for all visitors to the kingdom of Bahrain. This project to be approved by the ministry of tourism. My inspiration came from Bahraini National Anthem lyrics in Arabic – بلد الكرام which means the “country of nobles”. Bahrain is a very welcoming and friendly multi-cultured country. It is globally renowned for its generosity and hospitality. I tried to showcase the word I chose by using the Arabic calligraphy as the hero of my designs and create a handcrafted masterpiece made from gold water and golden coins to be showcased in the Bahrain National Museum.
Self-initiated Project Brief
eSports Team – Brand Identity
I decided to go with the Esports brief for multiple reasons. For one, I am very passionate about the subject, hardcore G2 fan, and addicted player. Also, I can have a lot of freedom in developing it. I am usually restricted with guidelines and design limitations on my daily practice, so I wanted to test how far can I go.
Perhaps I “over-designed” this brief, but just wanted to keep it relevant.
